Work Place / Dream Space

Nearly There! I have been working in my garage for sometime. My husband, son,  and I have been in our home for 6 years, but it wasn't until this past year that I realized, we lived like renters. We were never home our weekends were never spent at home, there was always something better, more important to do.

A lot of home repair had been put off for "after the wedding".
The wedding came and went and I was excited to start working on our home. I was excited to finally give the home MY touch. I quit smoking seven months ago and since that time the idea of going out just hasn't been as appealing and so I've been home. Living in my home, working in my home. I've slowly been making my way through the home repairs we'd put off for so long.

The garage was a real challenge there was at least six years of stuff accumulated in there (I say at least because I found things belonging to the previous owner). I had my husband move his tools out to his work shed (so far they've made it to the screen porch), then organized or tossed everything else. When I finally had the space necessary I painted then set up. Still not entirely done but it's functional and that's what I needed.

Work in progress

I wanted to share some recent paper projects and some still in the works:

I was at Joann fabric and craft store http://www.joann.com/

when I came across some Martha Stewart stickers. There were these paper mache flowers in packs of six for around $3. Well I needed several hundred (for the tree on my wall) and couldn't afford to buy them 6 at a time so I bought some tissue paper and started to create my own. They were fairly simple to make and it was fun and so pretty having little paper flowers everywhere.

I've also been working on Decoupage Easter Eggs:

For these I have blown out eggs then used an exacto knife to cut out designs from napkins, using the very top layer of the napkin and modge podge glue to decoupage the egg.

They are so lovely and will last if not broken

Lastly I am starting a project for my new niece Penelope! I saw these in a Restoration Hardware Baby&Child catalog --http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod227171
There was a beautiful hot air balloon mobile and of course I thought I can do that with paper!

I didn't have great colors and the balloon is way to big but it was a good sample of the work ahead I can't wait to start and finish them!

Welcome! Welcome!

I am very excited about this blog! For the last 3-4 years I have have been soul searching. What do I want to do? I just turned 30 and I can't sit on the fence forever. I have so many dreams that nailing one down seemed impossible. Oh why can't I do it all! Finish school, bake, sing, have another child, and sell beautiful paper. So I have decided to do as much as possible, the question then became how. It was there all the time forming and developing in the back round; I should start my own business; a paper shop where there are crafts and craft supplies. I could have small baked goodies, sing alongs, and weekly in store crafting work shops! I love the idea! Now I need to bring it to life. I started this blog as a sort of trial I will bring some of the ideas that I have for the Boutique here. New dishes and paper crafts. While I do this work I will also be working on things on the business side finding the perfect location, my business plan, and of course my credit score.

Here is a list of short term goals I've been and will be working towards
Create a work place/dream space
Spring cleaning ~ kitchen ~switch winter closet for spring and summer
Bake something new ~ use cookie press
Finish my associates (should be done at summer's end)
Enroll at local university
